Finding
A Job |
| I used some of the same resources for both building my resume
and searching for an internship. Lynda Cappicio (see below) posted
a list of companies who were looking for people outside her office
door. The list included the company name, location and position
available. It also gave information about when companies were coming
to JMU, which would allow anyone to talk to company representatives
directly. This is a good way to make a contact with a company you
might be interested in. This list was also supplied by the Career
Center (see below). This I found to be helpful, but it was not how
I found the internship I ended up working for. The CS department
has a mailing list that is used to send students information about
internships(see below). I received several emails about internship
opportunities from this list and when I noticed there was an internship
position offered by Dr. Frysinger, a professor in ISAT, I replied.
Dr. Frysinger replied back and set up an interview. |
