Finding Openings
Having worked at Road Runner for two summers as a temporary employee, and a third as an intern last summer (2002) in Security, I have developed quite a few connections that have been helpful in finding me openings.
For the school year leading up to the internship, I watched AOLTW's career site for the internship positions to go online. Around March, they came online and I applied for them. Unfortunately, May rolled around and I still had not heard anything so I contacted the HR person directly. She told me that she hadn't received my resume through the system and that there were only 2 positions left - one in Marketing and the other in Quality Assurance. I submitted my resume to the QA position and got a response from the hiring manager that week.
I have also found the following sites to be useful when searching for a job opening: Monster.com, HotJobs, and GamaSutra.
