A quality internship is a tremendous opportunity for any rising college student for several reasons. First, it provides practical, on-the-job experience at a company, which cannot be duplicated in an academic setting. An internship also allows a student to analyze technologies and methodologies that are important in the real world. It also provides an opportunity to network with other people who are in the prime of their careers. Finally, an internship can often lead to a job offer for after graduation.

Now that I have completed my summer internship, I can truly affirm each of these factors is tremendously important. My internship experience has given me a new perspective on life after college. Although it took a good deal of effort to obtain the internship and work through the summer, it was an incredible opportunity for me.
