Daily Log:

July 6th 2004- NASA- ECHO Project

Worst Day Ever:  Design Review Day
8:00am Arrive at work. Get coffee and a donut. Take care of all of my house keeping needs. Read/answer emails, go over scheduling needs/conflicts, etc.
9:00-9:30ish Meet with the two other gentlemen that I work directly with on the team.
9:30-11:30 Time spent reading over the notes and some slides for the Design Review meeting. Make final adjustments to my personal slides and notes for the Design Review. Time simply getting ready for the biggest meeting I have ever taken part in.
11:30-11:50 Really quick lunch
12:00-7:00 Design Review Meeting. Seven hours of sitting in a conference room listening to everyone working on the project discuss and debate their design aspects of the  project. 254 slides was the length of the Power Point presentation for this meeting. There were only 2 ten minute breaks throughout this meeting. Then I had to get up and present in front of everyone including the NASA officials overseeing this project. I had to describe the web application part of the project I was working on and explain how and why I was going to complete my tasks. Definitely not one of my more enjoyable days at work, yet I did get a lot of great experience.

July 12th 2004- NASA- ECHO Project

10:00-12:30 Time spent working on various tasks. Today I spent about an hour reading a book on Java Server Pages. I then spent the next hour and a half writing a combination of JSP's and Java files that attempt to dynamically populate a tree with nodes.
12:30-1:30 Lunch
1:30-  4:30 Combination of continuing to work on dynamically populating the tree and starting to work on a layout for the main JSP that will hold this tree.
4:30-6:30 Working with another team member to begin stubbing out the interface that will get the actual data from the database and feed it into my tree code.
