My summer internship with MTC Technologies proved to be very valuable on many levels. This was my first real job in the field of computer science and it was very satisfying to be able to apply my education in a real world experience. Besides getting my foot in the door, I felt very priviledged to work with such a talented group. Because everyone was so friendly, it was very enjoyable to go to work everyday.

Besides programming skills, I learned many things about everyday office life. I was able to acclimate myself to a full-time employee's schedule. I participated in meetings with a customer to discuss the progression of the project. Even the manner of web-based time cards was a new experience for me.

As far as computer science skills, I could not have been more pleased at what I was able to learn. In working with JP, Sam and Mick, I learned a lot about the dynamics of developing software in a group. From this I was able to better manage my time to best meet the needs of the project. JP in particular was very patient and helped guide me in developing the project. I advanced my skills in database design, ASP.NET/C#, HTML, CSS, and SQL. I also learned a little more about Macromedia Flash and Action Scripting.

Overall I would not change anything about my experience. I have gained valuable knowledge, made important contacts, earned class credit, and even saved up some money. I feel very enriched from the experience.
